A recently retired CIA agent, who until last year was responsible for the collection and assessment of intelligence on the Middle East – including Iraq, wrote in the leading foreign policy magazine, Foreign Affairs, that the White House misused intelligence on Iraq to justify a decision to go to war. Paul Pillar, former national intelligence officer for the Near East and South Asia, wrote that the Bush administration did not use intelligence to inform their decision about going to war in Iraq, but instead "cherry-picked" data that justified a decision that it had already reached. If Bush and Co. get friendly with Hamas aren’t they giving terrorism legitimacy? What Bush's olive branch to Hamas today shows me is that terrorism works- that it was ok for Hamas to engage in terrorism for years, just as long as now that they have power they drop the violence and buddy up to the Americans.
If they keep "turning corners", they will just keep going in circles.
They have little to no regard for human life. And they aren't really concerned with the future.
Their strategy of division is still working. So we need to work to change the political discussion from one of anger and division to one of unity, love, compassion and hope!
